ATLANTA -- 1 out of every 6 Americans are likely to get food poisoning every year and about 3000 people die from it. You can control what you do in your own kitchen but not when you eat out. That's why it's so important for health inspectors to stay on top of restaurants and why we are too with our new weekly Food Fighters segment.
This week we focus on a popular spot, The Flying Biscuit in Buckhead.
In less than a year the Flying Biscuit at the Buckhead Terminus building on Peachtree Road has had two unsatisfactory health inspections. 68 and 61.

"I completely understand any reaction to that," operating manager Michael Brown said, when he sat down to talk about it.
In July, things like mold in the ice machine, fruit flies in the kitchen and food out of temperature. Then in January of this year more problems, like "must not block hand sink" And cold and hot temperatures not properly maintained.
Brown was brought on in November and took charge. He sat down with the staff and went over everything line by line. He was open with us and said any attention brought to food safety keeps everyone on their toes.
When health inspectors came back in the first week of February, the Flying Biscuit scored at 98.
"Any information that you can give to make people safer and hold restaurants accountable, hold everybody accountable is a positive thing," Brown said as he showed us his score.
