ATLANTA (WXIA) - The United Negro College Fund's An Evening of Stars event will air this weekend on the Networks of 11Alive - on MyAtlTV, WATL (Channel 36) on Saturday night from 8 to 10 and on BounceTV (Channel 36.2) Sunday morning from 10 am to 12 noon.
The event will feature musical headliners like Patti LaBelle, Erykah Badu, Anthony Hamilton and Grammy nominees Lesisi and Marsha Ambrosius. Star students whose education has been made possible by the UNCF will also appear.
The event will make an appeal to help students by donating to UNCF through their website at http://www.uncf.org or by texting UNCF to 50555, which will let them donate $10 to the organization.
Since 1979, the event, which was previously known as the Lou Rawls Parade of Stars, has raised more than $200 million to help hundreds of thousands of students go to college.
