ATLANTA (WXIA) - Rovio, makers of the Angry Birds series of games is warning gameplayers about a fake version of the newest version of its game Angry Birds Space, making the rounds on Android systems.
The fake version of the game can be found in Google Play (formerly Android Marketplace), and it contains infectious malware that can damage your telephone.
According to Mashable, the fake version of the game does include a functional version of Angry Birds Space, but also contains a Trojan horse program called Andr/KongFu-L, which can gain access to your telephone and direct it to any website.
Rovio says to avoid any problems, only downloading the official version of the game from Google Play is the best way to avoid any infection of your telephone. Angry Birds Space was released in late March for iOS, Macs and PCs. The game was downloaded 10 million times in its first three days of release.
