It was a win/win for everyone as WXIA-TV, 11Alive sponsored the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk" for the American Cancer Society October 24 at Atlantic Station.

Making Strides Cancer Walk tops expectations

11 Alive Buddy Check's Karyn Greer rocked the crowd and more than 14,000 walkers participated, topping last year's event. More than $1 million was raised to fight breast cancer, again, topping last year's event.

Piedmont Hospital Hosts "Key To The Cure" Luncheon - October 15

The Women's Auxiliiary of Piedmont Hospital hosted a "Key to the Cure" luncheon to benefit breast cancer October 15 at Saks Fifth Avenue. 

What is Buddy Check?

Buddy Check is a program to promote breast health. We'll even send you a simple reminder to do a breast self-exam.

How it Works

  • Find a buddy -- a family member, friend, or co-worker.
  • On the 11th of each month, call your buddy and remind each other to do a breast self-exam.
  • If you find a lump, call your physician.
