RIVERDALE, Ga. -- A Clayton County Sheriff's Department deputy was shot and killed in the line of duty Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect in the fatal shooting, 17-year-old Jonathan Bun, was still at large Wednesday afternoon. He is said to be 5-feet-tall with black hair.
The shooting happened near the intersection of East Fayetteville and Walker Roads in Riverdale.
Deputies were attempting to serve Bun a warrant on an aggravated assualt charge. When the deputies found Bun in a car, he came out shooting, investigators said.
Several deputies chased Bun on foot. One of those deputies was wounded during the chase. The deputy was transported to Southern Regional Medical Center after the shooting. He died at the hospital, authorities said.
The deputy's name was not immediately released.
Bun is also wanted in an armed robbery on January 27 at Los Amigos Gifts and Things on Old Dixie Road in Forest Park.
