ATLANTA (WXIA) -- A new petition has appeared online that proposes linking Super Bowl weekend with Presidents' Day, with the goal of creating a three-day holiday weekend.
The petition, at http://www.movepresidentsday.org/, suggests that Super Bowl Sunday is a de facto holiday in the United States to begin with, and by joining it with Presidents' Day, it would strengthen both institutions.

A calendar on the site points out that Super Bowl Sunday this year is on February 5, while the Presidents' Day holiday -- which is a single holiday geared toward celebrating the births of President George Washington and President Abraham Lincoln -- is being marked this year on February 20.
The site with the petition does not point to a particular organization behind the effort. The only link on the site is to the web developer that created the site -- a Venice, Calif., firm called Zambezi.
