It's consignment sale season, and if you've never been to one it can be overwhelming!
One of the biggest, Kidsignments, gets under way at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, February 14th. More than 1400 sellers have signed up to unload their gently used childrens' clothing, baby items, toys and maternity clothes.
Some items are better deals than others at consignment sales. Here are my top 5 picks to on what to look for:
- Ride On Toys for the toddlers and Bicycles for older kids. Many are in great condition at a fraction of what you'd buy new.
- Sports Equipment.
- Baby Clothes. They are often in brand new condition or even new with tags at Consignment sales because babies grow so fast.
- For older kids, look for dressy clothes such as blazers and formal dresses they'll only wear once or twice. I also zero in on the designer names like Polo and Gymboree because if you later want to resell them you'll get top dollar in consignment shops.
- Books, DVD's and Video games. They can be a fortune at regular retail prices!
Before going to any consignment sale try to go to their website to find out any rules concerning children, forms of payment, or hours.
Kidsignments does not allow strollers before 2pm on opening day, February 14th.
The sale also does not supply shopping carts so most shoppers bring a trash can on wheels for big loads, a laundry basket on a leash, or a large suitcase.
The Gwinnett County Fairgrounds is located at 2405 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville, GA. For more information go to Kidsignments.com
