ATHENS, Ga. -- In wake of protest, University of Georgia student journalists have been reinstated and renamed to their posts according to the board that manages the Red and Black, student newspaper.

According to a joint statement released by the Red and Black board, editors and publisher:
Student editors, the board and publishers, Editor-in-Chief Polina Marinova and Manager Editor Julia Carpenter have been reinstated. And students want it to be clear that they have editorial control over the contents of the publications with no prior review.
The statement also says that the board will add a student to their membership and that the student jouanlists involved in the publication will "dedicate themselves to timely, accurate, fair and ethical journalism."
