ATLANTA -- Michael Parson was sentenced to 35 years in prison Friday morning.

After just more than an hour of deliberations Thursday, a jury found Parson guilty on all counts in the trial. The counts included attempted murder, aggravated assault and battery, making false statements to police and possession of marijuana.

The sentence was broken down as 30 years for attempted murder and five years for making false statements to authorities. An additional year for posession of marijuana was converted to time-served.

Parson was charged with ambushing and shooting his wife eight times, three of those in the head.

His wife Adina was in court on Tuesday.  It was the first time she's been seen in public.

According to investigators, Parson had an elaborate plan in place that included concocting an alibi to cover-up a relationship he started with another woman.
