Late summer and early fall are traditionally the times for lake and river cleanups in Metro Atlanta. But the flooding rains in September and October not only created a greater need, but kept volunteers away.

What Can You Do?
- Recycle plastic, paper, aluminum cans, and glass.
- Buy reusable products instead of disposables.
- Lower heating costs by adding insulation to the walls and attic of your house.
- Install weather stripping to help the efficiency of your air conditioner and heater.
- Use compact fluorescent lightbulbs, which are more efficient than incandescents.
- Drive less and use mass transit whenever possible.
