ATLANTA -- Police said the body of a 44-year-old white male was found on Georgia Tech's campus Tuesday morning.
The body was found shortly after 9:30 a.m. on a blanket in the rear of a business at 711 Marietta Street.
Georgia Tech spokesperson Matt Nagel identified the body as that of Jeffrey Lane Hopkins.
"There is no indication that Hopkins is or was a member of the Georgia Tech community," said Nagel in a statement released late Tuesday morning.
Police said Hopkins appeared to have facial injuries.
Atlanta police and the GBI are assisting Georgia Tech police with the investigation.
