Stuttgart, Germany (Sports Network) - Top seeds Janko Tipsarevic and
Juan Monaco both won their semifinal matches on Saturday at the Mercedes Cup
tennis event.
The Serbian Tipsarevic took a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 win over Brazil's Thomaz Bellucci
on the red clay at TC Weissenhof. Tipsarevic need a little over two hours to
take down Bellucci.
Monaco had his problems on Saturday in a win over Spain's Guillermo Garcia-
Lopez. Monaco took the first set, but then dropped the second. He then held a
comfortable 5-1 lead in the third before Guillermo Garcia rallied to win four
straight games and tie the set. Monaco, though, won the next two to take a
6-3, 3-6, 7-5 victory.
Tipsarevic will go for his first title of 2012 on Sunday and third of his
career. Monaco has already won twice on clay this year and will be shooting
for his sixth career title.
